Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station - Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Design
Project Location: Avonlough Road
Status: Municipal Class Environmental Assessment and Design Near Completion
Project Details
The purpose of this assignment is to complete a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to identify the preferred alternative for a new Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station including discharge sewers from the proposed station to the Water Pollution Control Plant located at 131 Saint Paul Street.
Sanitary sewer servicing for the Potters Creek Subdivision, currently under development is accommodated by the trunk sanitary sewer installed along Dundas St W in 2013. This trunk sewer is designed to service only those lands from Dundas St W northerly to the existing Avonlough Road sewage pumping station. The 2010 Loyalist Secondary Plan Area Trunk Sanitary Sewer Route Selection Master Plan, identified that the lands to the north situated between the existing Avonlough Road sewage pumping station and Bell Boulevard are to be serviced by a new sewage pumping station (to replace the existing pump station) with approximately 5 km of new trunk sewers discharging directly to the Water Pollution Control Plant.
Completion of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment is the first step in the process to finalizing a design and proceeding to construction when needed to accommodate development.
